    69th Signal Battalion

    WIESBADEN, Germany – 5th Signal Command’s 102nd Signal Battalion and 69th Signal Battalion Network Enterprise Centers (NEC) competed in the Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) NEC of the Year competition placing first in the medium category and the large category respectively. “This worldwide competition measures the quality of service continuously provided to our customers and to our Army,” said Col.(P) Bruce T. Crawford, commander, 5th Signal Command. “These winners exemplify the teamwork, leadership, and selfless service that make our Army strong,” he said.

    5th Signal Command’s Cyber Center Europe dedicated to former U.S. Army Europe deputy commanding general Lt. Gen. Robert E. Gray

    WIESBADEN, Germany (May 2, 2013) -- –  5th Signal Command officially named the Cyber Center Europe building on Clay Kaserne the "Gray Center" in honor of former deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Europe, Lt. Gen. Robert E. Gray. Gray was a distinguished signal officer, leader and mentor who was also the first African-American to become the Chief of Signal and Commanding General of Fort Gordon, the headquarters of the Army Signal Regiment.


    Gen. Dennis L. Via, commanding general of Army Materiel Command, was the guest speaker and accompanied 5th Signal Commanding General and USAREUR CIO/G6, Brig. Gen. Bruce T. Crawford and Lt. Gen. Gray's widow, Annie, in the unveiling of the building's sign.

    WIESBADEN, Germany (April 4, 2013) -- 5th Signal Command dedicated their headquarters building to Captain Riley L. Pitts who earned the Medal of Honor for his actions in the Vietnam War. Captain Pitts is also the first African American commissioned officer to be awarded the Medal of Honor.

    
                    Soldier / NCO of the year competition

    WIESBADEN, Germany (April 2, 2013) -- Soldier/NCO of the Year Competition photo and cutline: 5th Signal Command Soldiers compete at a weapons qualification course as part of the 2013 Soldier and NCO of the Year Competition. All participants had to conduct several events in the competition to include a PT Test, Land Navigation Course, Warrior Task events, Weapons Qualification, and a formal board in front of senior NCOs and the Command Sergeant Major.
